2008 World Youth Show- Oklahoma City August 1-9, 2008

Congratulations to NJQHYA members who made the trip to OKC to compete at the Youth World Show!!  Amanda Mehaffey and A Spanish Invitation showed in the Western Pleasure and earned a spot in the semi finals. Carley Montemuro and the Great Pine made a strong showing in the youth reining.  Abigail Pait showed Lizzys Gold Boy in the Horsemanship and Showmanship earning her way to the semi finals in Showmanship. She then went on to lead Looking For Mr Right to a RESERVE WORLD CHAMPION title in theYearling Mares and place 5th in the 3 Year Old Mares with Senara.  Samantha Pollicino showed Good As Good Gets in the Western Pleasure and Performance Halter Geldings earning 3rd place in PHG.  WAY TO SHOW TEAM JERSEY!

In the scrapbook competition, Alison Ceresani, Cece Hodgson, Sarah Hodgson and Abigail Pait finished 4th overall out of 14 teams and 2nd in our division in a close finish that had us less than a point behind the winner of our division!  Special thanks to Nat Sooy who donated his time to make our scrapbook cover!!! Great presentation ladies!!!

Carley’s dad Rick arrived in OKC with his tools and building supplies and the group quickly went to work on decorating our area for the stall decorating competition that is part of the Team Spirit Award.  Team NJ tied for  7th in stall decorating in our division of 30 teams.  This placing combined with a 4th in the opening parade earned NJ 4TH OVERALL out of 30 teams in the Team Spirit Competition.  LOOKING GOOD NJ!!!!   A good time was had by all even in the extreme 100 plus heat.  Some members had time to sight see and others beat the heat at the water park.  NJ’s Tim Manzi did a great job as Journal Journalist at the event; check himout at www.aqha.com .   TEAM NJ WAS DEFINITELY ON THE MOVE IN OKC!!!
